Fishing
  World class fly fishing is available throughout the Kootenay Rocky Mountain lakes. Kookanee Salmon, Widemouth Bass, Gerrard Rainbow Trout and Rocky Mountain White Fish are all waiting to be caught.

St Mary's river, Elk River, Wigwam River and Bull river offer the best fly fishing in the region. Kootenay Lake is renowned for large Gerrard Rainbow Trout, while Rainbow Trout and Dolly Varden can be caught in Spring or late fall on the Slocan Lake.
